USAGE

It is used before a *singular* noun, regardless of its gender. For example: "notre maison" (our house), "notre ami" (our friend).

TRAPS

Notre must agree in number with the *noun* it modifies. Use notre for singular nouns and "nos" for plural nouns. Do not confuse them!

Also, distinguish it from the possessive pronoun "nôtre" (ours).
